Hair Salon Franchise

UX/UI Design
Project Overview
Designed a sleek and conversion-optimized website for a hair salon franchise for independently-owned salons. The digital platform needed to unify brand messaging, simplify appointment bookings, and support a diverse range of services—from haircuts to coloring and manicures—while accommodating various booking software systems.
My Contributions
  • Wireframes & Prototypes: Crafted intuitive booking and service discovery flows with transparent pricing
  • Visual/UI Design: Developed a modular style guide featuring premium typography, color palette, and imagery that supports luxury and modern appeal
  • Component System: Designed reusable UI elements (service cards, location headers, booking widgets) to ensure consistency across locations
  • Integration Planning: Designed flows adaptable to different third-party booking systems while maintaining brand consistency

Challenges:
Integrating multiple booking platforms posed the most formidable challenge, while maintaining a seamless, branded experience. Showcasing different services required flexible UI designs with clear pricing and filterable listings. Additionally, maintaining consistency across locations with varying branding needs—and doing so without sacrificing scalability—required a strategic, component-based design approach, seamless, branded experience. Showcasing diverse services demanded flexible UI patterns with transparent pricing and filterable listings. Additionally, achieving consistency across locations with varying branding needs—and doing so without sacrificing scalability—required a tactical component-based design strategy.
Achievements:
The result was a visually coherent, trust-inspiring website that balances elegance with usability. By simplifying the booking process—reducing unnecessary form fields and emphasizing transparent pricing—I followed best practices in beauty-site UX, which focus on mobile-first design, real-time scheduling, and clear CTAs. The delivered Figma system included interactive prototypes and developer-ready specs, positioning the franchise for a smooth site-wide rollout and future growth.
Role:
As the Lead UX/UI Designer, I oversaw the entire design process: gathering stakeholder insights, defining user journeys, and developing wireframes, prototypes, and refined visual designs. I also collaborated closely with developers to turn the designs into an accessible, scalable website.
Approach:
I started with brand and user discovery, identifying trigger words like "professional," "sophisticated," and "premium." Then, I mapped out key user flows for service discovery, location selection, and booking. The wireframes emphasized intuitive information structure and clear booking processes. High-fidelity mockups followed, introducing a modular design system with reusable components and consistent visual style. A Figma prototype was built, tested repeatedly, and refined to reduce booking friction and improve mobile performance.
